Saffron has the reputation of being the most expensive spice in the world. Saffron is called “zafran” in Spanish. In Spain saffron is an indispensable ingredient in such famous dishes as Paella. It’s has a deep auburn colour and sweet flavour. It can also be added to rice and ice creams.
